Day 01: Odense

Day 02: Odense • Explore Odense on own
Odense is a place of literary wonder. The cosy city is the birthplace of the world’s most famous writer of fairy tales, Hans Christian Andersen, and a trip to explore the cobbled streets of his childhood home and the Hans Christian Andersen Museum is a real step back in time. We recommend that you visit our beautiful Gothic Cathedral, visit Brandt's on Thursdays, grab a city bike and go for a ride along the river out to the lake in Fruens Bøge - the possibilities are many. You can also explore Odense’s cosy streets, enjoy its cafés or street food market and disconnect from the hectic pace of larger cities. With the city bus you can take a trip around the center of Odense for free. The bus circles the inner city and passes each stop approx. every 10 minutes. The buses are easy to recognize - they are pink and decorated with fairy tale characters from Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales. Overnight in Odense.
