DAY 01: Houston – Austin 

You will arrive in Houston from where you will fly/drive to Austin (2.5 hrs., 165 mi./265 km.) Arrive in the city that boasts about being the live music capital of the world.  Overnight in Austin.

DAY 02: Austin 

Today we embark on a city sightseeing trail to Austin’s major landmarks. Visit the Bullock Texas State History Museum, the Blanton Art Museum, the Harry Centre, the University of Texas Stadium, and campus. Gaze at the serene natural beauty of Lady Bird Lake, and ride across the Congress Avenue Bridge, which is home to the world’s largest urban colony of bats. Overnight in Austin.

DAY 03: Austin – New Orleans 

Today you will travel to New Orleans (8 hrs., 511 mi./822 km.), where you can either rest and soak in the vibe of the city or explore the Big Easy in its full glamour.  Overnight in New Orleans.

DAY 04: New Orleans

Today you will explore the French Quarter – the oldest neighborhood in the city that is home to several historic buildings constructed in the late 18th century. Travel by the glorious mansions sitting along Esplanade Avenue on your way to City Park where you can visit the Morning Call Cafe for a strong coffee and scrumptious beignets. Stroll through the adjacent Best-off Sculpture Garden, where more than 60 colorful and eclectic sculptures litter the landscape. Overnight in New Orleans.

DAY 05: New Orleans

DAY 06: New Orleans – Gulf Shores/Orange Beach

Today you leave for the beach in Sweet Home Alabama where the skies are blue. Laze around on the beautiful coast. Overnight in Gulf Shores.

DAY 07: Orange Beach

Today you will take an excursion to the water sports hub, Orange Beach City. You can plunge into the waters or explore the Orange Beach Indian & Sea Museum to learn about Native Americans and fishing history. You can spend your time on the wharf, which is a shopping area with an amphitheater. Overnight in Gulf Shores.

DAY 08: Gulf Shores

We have kept today free for you to explore on your own. Overnight in Gulf Shores.

DAY 09: Gulf Shores – Montgomery

Today you will travel north to Montgomery (3 hrs., 187 mi./300 km.). Soak in the vibe of the city. Overnight in Montgomery. 

DAY 10: Montgomery

Rise and shine to the sounds of Montgomery, where you will see both Civil War and Civil Rights history in this truly Southern City. Stand where Jefferson Davis was inaugurated as President and take a tour of the First White House of the Confederacy. Visit the State Capitol and Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church. Also downtown is the Hank Williams Museum, the Harriott II Riverboat, and the Alley Entertainment District. Overnight in Montgomery.

DAY 11: Montgomery – Muscle Shoals

Travel to Muscle Shoals (3.5 hrs., 200 mi./ 321 km.), which is called the hit recording capital of the world in the ’60s as the Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, Paul Simon, and other legends came to the four small cities in northwest Alabama to record their albums. Overnight in Muscle Shoals

DAY 12: Muscle Shoals

Take a city tour which includes FAME and Muscle Shoals Sound Studios where Wilson Picket recorded his #1 hit record, Land of 1000 Dances, the Alabama Music Hall of Fame, and you can even hear live music in a rural saloon built under a massive rock. Other sites in the area include Helen Keller’s Home and a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed house. Overnight in Muscle Shoals.

DAY 13: Muscle Shoals – Nashville

Travel to Nashville, Tennessee (2.25 hrs., 126 mi./202 km.), to the Music City USA and experience live music halls and music history. Overnight in Nashville.

DAY 14: Nashville

Today is kept free for you to explore on your own. Overnight in Nashville.

DAY 15: Homeward Bound

Today you will depart for your hometown with cherished memories.
