DAY 01: Atlanta – Montgomery

You will arrive in Atlanta and proceed to Montgomery (2.2 hrs., 150 mi./241 km.). En-route you should stop to see the Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site and learn about the brave African Americans that broke the race barrier during WWII.  On arrival, explore the alley entertainment district of downtown Montgomery, which includes a baseball park, a basement jazz club, two performance facilities, an outdoor riverfront amphitheater, several restaurants, bars, a New Orleans style alley, and a riverboat cruise. Overnight in Montgomery.

DAY 02: Montgomery

Rise and shine to the sounds of Montgomery, where you will see both Civil War and Civil Rights history in this truly Southern City. Stand where Jefferson Davis was inaugurated as President and take a tour of the First White House of the Confederacy. Visit the State Capitol and Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church. Also downtown is the Hank Williams Museum, the Harriott II Riverboat, and the Alley Entertainment District. Overnight in Montgomery.

DAY 03: Montgomery – Selma – Birmingham  

Today you will travel to Selma to see the History that was made during the Selma-to-Montgomery Civil Rights March. Visit the two U.S. Park Service Museums on this route, one at the midpoint and the other in Selma. Visit the museums dedicated to the march before traveling to Birmingham. Overnight in Birmingham.

DAY 04: Birmingham

Today you will explore the historic 4th Avenue Area Downtown where you will see the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, the 16th Street Baptist Church, and the world’s largest cast-iron statue. Overnight in Birmingham.

DAY 05: Birmingham – Atlanta – Homeward Bound

Today you will proceed to Atlanta (2.2 hrs., 150 mi./241 km.). Before your flight leaves, you can explore the World of Coca-Cola, the Georgia Aquarium, and the King Centre. Flyback home with cherished memories.
