Today proceed to visit the Alta Museum. The museum opened in June 1991 and won the European Museum of the Year Award in 1993. Alta Museum is northern Norway's most-visited summer museum, with more than 1,000 visitors each day. It presents exhibitions on local culture and historic industries including the nearby prehistoric rock carvings that form a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you can walk on pathways arranged around the rock carving area. Fantastic view over the Alta Fjord. The 2000 to 6200 years old rock carvings show the life of hunters and fishermen. Museum with historical exhibitions, café with a panoramic view, souvenir shop. Later proceed to visit Northern Lights Cathedral and BorealisAlta. A new church that has already become a well-known icon and symbol of the town. Photo opportunities await both outside and in, as you tour the church that combines spiritual and natural elements in its design and artwork. Then, head to the ground floor under the church to BorealisAlta, a fun and fascinating exhibition with a Northern Lights theme. Learn about the science behind this phenomenon and take a little extra time to dance and sing with the aurora in fun interactive stations. You'll find a wealth of information delivered in a clear and engaging format - by the time you leave you'll have a solid understanding of the aurora and the history of its research, and you may have even beaten your friends in a singalong contest!  Overnight in Alta.

Day 03: Alta • Wild Fjords and the Glacier by Boat

Today proceed to explore the Wild Fjords and the Glacier by Boat. The Øksfjordjøkul glacier is the only glacier on mainland Europe that calves down into the sea. It is located just between the counties of Troms and Finnmark and is surrounded by beautiful and wild fjords and high mountains. We leave Alta and Alta Fjord, passing several historic landmarks on the route. When we arrive at our destination in Jøkelfjord we will take a boat trip out to the glacier to take exciting pictures close by the majestic icefall that reaches 800 meters above sea-level. The glacier is very active and can calve, where ice breaks off the front and crashes onto a lower ice shelf before falling into the fjord, leaving the sound of thunder behind. After the boat trip we will return to the harbor where we will have lunch and hot drinks before heading back home to Alta. Overnight at Alta.

Day 04: Alta • Fjord Safari by RIB

On this trip we have focus on storytelling from the early settlement of Alta up on today. We will drive past areas with historical spots and great nature in the inner Altafjord. We will also get close-up with the local wildlife, which can include, sea eagles, seals, birds and more. Rest day is free at leisure. Overnight in Alta.
